Biography

Elizabeth M. Guerriero, Ph.D. is assistant professor of music education at Rowan University, where she instructs General Music Methods, Foundations of Music Education, Principles and Pedagogies in the Inclusive Classroom for the College of Education, and supervises Clinical Residencies I & II.  Previously, she served as Director of Education for the Harmony Program at City University of New York, supervising choral and instrumental music education at 14 low-income public schools across 4 Boroughs, as well as partnerships with the Juilliard School, New York Philharmonic, West Point Band, and New York Youth Symphony. 
Currently serving as editor for the American String Teacher, and president-elect for American String Teachers Association/NJ, Dr. Guerriero frequently presents at conferences, and is also a passionate researcher interested in the areas of children's empathy development, social justice, and string pedagogy. Dr. Guerriero was a finalist for the 2019 Ovation Award for Inspiration and Outstanding Leadership in Music Education from the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra.
