Richard Linn

Richard (Rick) Linn has been performing as a freelance musician on trombone and euphonium in the Delaware Valley area since 1977. He has performed in many different venues, from the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia to the casinos in Atlantic City. He is the principal trombone in the Bay-Atlantic Symphony, principal tenor trombone in the Opera Delaware Orchestra and second trombone in the Delaware Symphony Orchestra. He also subs regularly with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra and records for NFL Films in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.  In the past, Rick has played with the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Opera Company of Philadelphia as well as the Reading Symphony.

After a distinguished public school teaching career, Mr. Linn retired, having taught music at all levels in Southern New Jersey for 31 years. Now at Rowan, in addition to teaching trombone, he is passing along his wealth of knowledge and experience supervising Student Teachers. Mr. Linn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education in 1975, and a Master of Music in Applied Trombone in 1977 from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, while working as a graduate assistant. During this time, he also played extra trombone with the Pittsburgh Symphony.
