Rowan Opera Company: Amahl and the Night Visitors

Gian Carlo Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors

December 6 - 8, 2019 • Pfleeger Concert Hall

Directed by Marian Stieber

Featuring Guest Conductor Louis Scaglione

Brighten the season with this new production of Menotti's warm and compassionate one-act opera inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's painting, The Adoration of the Magi, that captures the essential spirit of the holidays.

As the Three Kings make their journey, they stop for shelter at the home of Amahl, a boy who can walk only with a crutch, and his widowed mother. Motivated by his life-changing encounter with the Wise Men, Amahl makes a selfless choice which brings about an unexpected miracle.

This is an experience for the entire family.
