The Bachelor of Arts in Music is designed for students who wish to pursue musical studies in the context of a liberal arts education. Students may undertake the BA to broadly explore music outside of a performance or teaching concentration, as a major program alongside a pre-medical or pre-health minor, or in preparation for graduate study in areas such as musicology, music theory, or arts administration. The degree includes coursework in music theory, music history, and ethnomusicology as well as applied performance and ensemble experiences. Through electives, BA students have the flexibility to further their music education with classes in music technology, music business, composition, and jazz studies.B.A. vs B.M.

Music & Medicine at Rowan
Students can earn their BA in Music, a minor in the Foundations of Biomedical Sciences, and complete all of the required coursework for medical school by following the Music and Medicine track. You will have a team of advisors who will guide you through the Music and Medicine curriculum to ensure you develop both the coursework and experiential learning to help you reach your career goals!
