Biography
Robert Thorpe has designed more than 50 mainstage shows at Rowan University and is also an adjunct instructor, teaching Stage Lighting Design as well as Independent Study in Theatre Lighting. Among his designs are the KCACTF-nominated productions The Gathering, Spring Awakening and Stairs to the Roof. Other productions include Kill Me Now, Who Will Carry The Word?, Groove, Bat Boy, The Messenger, Carmina Burana, Will You Marry Me Pina Baush, Into The Woods, Flying West, Metamorphosis, Guys & Dolls and The Swan. Thorpe works as a lighting designer, production manager and theatrical consultant for EGI Theatrical and has been production manager and lighting designer for many regional theatres in the region. His work has been seen at Foundation Theatre, Villanova University, Wilma Theatre, Seaport, NFL Films, MTV and elsewhere. He designed the lighting for five of Philadelphia's Barrymore Awards ceremonies.
