More About Us
- RYSO, under the direction of Sue On, is for young musicians who want to advance their musical abilities and cultivate a passion for orchestral music. We welcome students that possess a strong foundation in their instrument and are able to play in key signatures with up to two sharps and two flats. Additionally, we encourage applicants who have completed or are at an equivalent level to Suzuki Book 1, allowing for a common repertoire and shared musical experiences.
- RYSO Requirements (Seating Placement ONLY, no formal audition required)
- Playing Level: Ability to play fluently in first position and beginning to shift into higher positions.
- Major Scales:(even separate bows) G, C, D – 1 or 2 octaves F — 1 octave
- Students SELECT a 1-minute excerpt of a piece that demonstrates your best ability with your instrument. Consult with your private instructor to ensure that you have enough time to learn the piece, both technically and musically.
- A reminder this audition is only for seating placement and not an entrance audition. All who want to join RYSO will be accepted!
