We are pleased to announce the formation of the New Horizons Band at Rowan University! New Horizons will serve the adult 55+ community and will be the only such band in the tri-state area!

New Horizons programs provide music-making opportunity for adults. Here at the Rowan Community Music School, we believe that every person has musical potential that can be developed to a level that will be personally rewarding!
Perhaps you played an instrument in your school program years ago and want to pick it back up; perhaps you are a retired musician or music teacher looking to keep your chops up; perhaps you've been playing your instrument all this time but are looking to make music with a group! Whatever the case may be, New Horizons is the place for you. You'll develop friendships, engage with your peers in a social setting, and make great music together.

Wake up and grab some coffee! New Horizons will meet on Saturday mornings from 10am to noon right here at Rowan University's main campus in Glassboro starting on Saturday, September 21st and concluding with a public performance on Sunday, December 8th. Rehearsals will take place in the music building (Wilson Hall), in our large ensemble rehearsal space, Room 156.

The only cost associated with New Horizons is a $30 registration fee for the Fall Semester! We'll discuss that at the first rehearsal on September 21, 2024. All you need to do is show up and bring your instrument! Members will play: flute, clarinet, oboe, basson, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, piano, or percussion! Play an instrument not listed here? No problem...we'll make it work for you!
