Flute Clinic- November 17, 2024
Flute faculty, Dr. Susanna Loewy, invites middle and high school flutists to explore new techniques, repertoire, and ideas in sessions, chamber music groups, and a flute choir.
WindFest 2024 - December 3, 2024
The Rowan University WindFest Honor Band is an intensive experience for select high school musicians from throughout NJ, PA, DE & NY. Participants will enjoy challenging repertoire and exciting rehearsals, working alongside Rowan's world-class faculty and exceptional university students in performance and masterclass settings.The event concludes with a concert in Pfleeger Concert Hall featuring the WindFest Honor Band alongside the Rowan University Wind Ensemble. Nominate your students for the WindFest Honor Band.
Rowan Honor Orchestra - December 5, 2024
The Rowan University Honor Orchestra offers a high-quality symphonic orchestra experience to high school musicians from NJ, PA, DE and NY. Students will have the opportunity to work with Rowan's distinguished faculty and rehearse side-by-side with the Rowan University Symphony Orchestra in an immerseive, one-day event culminating in an evening concert. This year, we'll be performing Gershwin's iconic masterpiece An American in Paris.
Music educators/directors can nominate up to 12 string musicians in grades 9-12.

College Audition Vocal Masterclass - January 22, 2025
Workshop College Auditions Songs or Arias!
If you've decided to pursue a vocal music degree, please sign up for a FREE masterclass with Professor Lauren Athey-Janka. Vocal technique, how to present yourself and your repertoire, acting, diction and more will be explored.
Open to high school students!
Attendes should bring 1-3 memorized pieces of classical audition repertoire. If you need help choosing a piece, check out our list of suggested songs here.
Double Reed Day- January 26, 2025
Rowan University’s double reed faculty, Marie Trudeau and Zachary Feingold invite double reed players to learn about reed-making, developing a career in music, college auditions, instrument repair, and more. Open to musicians in 6th grade and older, music educators, professional performers, and community members.

Viola Day- February 1, 2025
Strings players and teachers, join ASTNJ and Rowan University for Viola Day at Rowan featuring violist Sheila Browne, Rowan University Artist in Residence! Open to high school and college students, music educators, professional performers, and community members, we invite you to spend the day at Rowan connecting, learning, and playing viola.

String Ensemble Concerto Competition- February 2, 2025
The Rowan String Ensemble Concerto Competition is open to all instruments and voice. There are two categories for this competition:
- Junior Division = any pre-college student
- Senior Division = any college students from any academic institution
One winner from each division will perform with the Rowan String Ensemble in the Spring concert.
Repertoire chosen by the applicant should be between 5-20 minutes and must be appropriate for a small ensemble of strings to accompany. Up to 5 non-string players in an orchestra accompaniment is allowed. The Rowan String Ensemble performs without a conductor. Any questions about the repertoire should be directed to Dr. Timothy Schwarz at schwarzt@rowan.edu
Applicants must provide their own accompanist. Memory is not required but highly reccommended.

Jazz Festival - February 13-15, 2025

Bass Hang- February 22, 2025
String bass players, join Professor Douglas Mapp for Rowan University’s Bass Hang and spend a day hanging out and working on playing and learning the string bass! The hang is open to all bassists aged 10-18

Spring Musical Vocal Masterclass - February 26, 2025
Workshop Solos from your High School Musical
If you are a lead or supporting role in your high school musical, bring your solos to this FREE masterclass to work with Professor Athey-Janka on technique, vocal health, diction, breath support and more!
String Festival - March 3-4, 2025
Rowan University welcomes middle and high school string ensembles for an exciting day of clinics, sessions, master classes, and performances! Adjudicators will choose one ensemble to play in a side-by-side concert with the Rowan University Symphony Orchestra.

Mid-Atlantic Regional College Auditions South (MARCAS) - November 15, 2024
The MARCAS draw students in grades 11+ from the region to audition for 50+ recruiters representing theatre and dance programs from colleges across the country.
