The College of Performing Arts is proud to honor our graduating seniors.
CPA Medallion Awards
The medallion award is the highest honor a graduating senior can receive to acknowledge superior performance in a particular field. The medallion distinguishes the student as exceptional, placing them in the ranks of Rowan University’s finest graduates.The Jacob Music Steinway Award
The Jacob Music Steinway Award is sponsored by Jacobs Music Company and is awarded to an accomplished piano student in the Music Department.Ann B. Ward Creative Achievement in Fine and Performing Arts Award
Donated by Mrs. Sherman C. Ward, former member and chairperson of the Board of Trustees, this medallion is awarded for excellence in fine arts performance. Although the award is “housed” in the College of Performing Arts, students in the Department of Art are also eligible for this award.
Criteria:
- Significant accomplishment in a Fine and Performing Arts medium that has resulted in the creation of a work (or works) of art (including musical and theatrical works) and for which the artist has received significant recognition beyond coursework.
- Performance level of the highest standard, equal to that of any young performer/artist in the U.S.
- Consideration given to student’s other contributions to the University and/or community and to academic achievement.

Bryna G. Goldhaft Dance Award
Bryna G. Goldhaft, the original sponsor of this award, was a longtime supporter of the University's Dance Progam and the Fine and Performing Arts. This medallion is donated by Dr. Tevis M. Goldhaft in her memory.

Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Award for Outstanding Excellence in Performing Arts Education
The award honors the exceptional performance in clinical practice.
Dr. Chamberlain serves as the Government Affairs coordinator with the New Jersey State Nurses Association. She received an associate's degree in applied science from Gloucester County College, bachelor's degrees in school nursing and nursing from Glassboro State College and Stockton State College respectively, a master's degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Wilmington University. Dr. Chamberlain holds a PhD in Nursing from Widener University.

Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Award for Outstanding Excellence in Music Production
The Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Award for Outstanding Excellence in Music Production honors the exceptional performance of a music industry major with a concentration in music technology. Recipients additionally demonstrate artistic excellence, contribute positively to the Department and/or University and are outstanding representatives of the Department.
Dr. Chamberlain received an associate's degree in applied science from Gloucester County College, bachelor's degrees in school nursing and nursing from Glassboro State College and Stockton State College respectively, a master's degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Wilmington University. Dr. Chamberlain holds a PhD in Nursing from Widener University.

Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Award for Outstanding Excellence in Singing
The Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Award for Outstanding Excellence in Singing honors the exceptional performance in singing. Recipient must be chosen from Music and/or Musical Theatre programs.
Dr. Chamberlain is a patron of the arts and studies piano at the Rowan Community Music School. Dr. Chamberlain received an associate's degree in applied science from Gloucester County College, bachelor's degrees in school nursing and nursing from Glassboro State College and Stockton State College respectively, a master's degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Wilmington University. Dr. Chamberlain holds a PhD in Nursing from Widener University.

Jacobs Music Steinway Award
Jacobs Music Steinway Award is awarded to an accomplished piano student in the Music Department. It is sponsored by Jacobs Music Company and may not be offered annually.

Joseph Robinette Excellence in Theatre and Dance Award
This medallion is awarded to a senior who has been an active leader in theatre student organizations and displays an all-around quality of academic and artistic excellence. It is donated by Joseph Robinette.
Criteria:
- Overall academic excellence as reflected by a cumulative GPA above 3.2
- Academic excellence in the major as reflected by a cumulative CPA in the major above a 3.2
- Frequent and focused participation in department production (both faculty and student directed in either performance or technical capacities)
- Active participation in departmental activiites including leadership and participation in student clubs and organizations and/or contribution to department recruitment and retention initiatives

W. Clarke Pfleeger Award for Musical Excellence
Dr. W. Clarke Pfleeger, Professor Emeritus, was a member of the Department of Music from 1947 until his retirement in 1988, serving as chairperson for many years. This medallion is donated in his memory by his wife, Lucille Pfleeger.
