Biography

A soloist, collaborative pianist, and teacher, Silvia Atmadja has given numerous solo and chamber recitals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. In 2005, she performed as a soloist with WVU orchestra as one of the Young Artist competition winners. In recent years, she has been invited as an adjudicator in music festivals and a seminar presenter to provide training to piano instructors in several music schools in Indonesia.

Dr. Atmadja holds B.M., M.M., and D.M.A degrees from West Virginia University, where she studied primarily with Dr. James Miltenberger. She received her pedagogical training from Dr. Connie Arrau Sturm and Dr. Lucy Mauro. She is currently an adjunct faculty at Rowan University and University of Valley Forge. She also maintains an active private studio in Collegeville, PA as a highly sought-after teacher. She served as the Chair of Piano Department at the Community Music School in Trappe, PA for several years, as well as faculty at Settlement Music School and Stokes Forest Music Camp (Montclair State University).

Silvia resides in the suburb of Philadelphia with her husband Chris and their son Thelonious.
