Biography

Richard Carroll earned a BA in humanities cum laude from Bob Jones University in 1981, a BA in music from Rowan University in 1995 and an MM from Rowan Universtiy in 2010. He has studied bassoon with John Shamlian, Lawrence Stewart, and Bernard Garfield and currently plays bassoon and contrabassoon with the Bay Atlantic Symphony. He has been involved with church music for many years and for the last 16 years has been serving as organist/music director of the Grenloch Presbyterian Church in Washington Township, NJ.

In addition to performing, Mr. Carroll is also a keyboard instrument technician specializing in historic 18th and 19th century instruments. He has been called upon to service instruments for baroque chamber ensembles such as La Bernardinia as well as modern orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra and Curtis Institute of Music.
