Biography

William Conn is an exciting young concert saxophonist, exploring the boundaries of concert saxophone music from the earliest pieces written to the most contemporary. During the summer of 2008, he was a guest performer at the Universit? Nancy 2 in Nancy, France. In 2009, he premiered Drew Baker's How You Gaze Beyond the Vast Time, for solo soprano saxophone, and with the Northwestern University Saxophone Ensemble presented a regional premier of Claudio Gabriele's Coefficient de Viscosit? Ang?lique. At the 2010 North American Saxophone Alliance Conference, he performed the world premier of Drew Baker's 69F, for tenor saxophone and tape. William has performed in many reputable venues such as Millennium Park (Chicago), the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (Newark), Merriam Theater (Philadelphia) and Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. October 2010, Conn took part in the contemporary film Khu presented by Matthew Barney and Jonathan Bepler in Detroit, Michigan. As the soprano saxophonist in the Harmonium Saxophone Quartet, he won the 2011 J. C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition. He currently holds a B.M. from Northwestern University (2009) and a M.M. from Bowling Green State University (2011).
