Biography
Andy Dykeman-Daams is a professional freelance saxophonist from Athens, Ohio. Currently residing in Glassboro, New Jersey, and having recently completed their Master's in Music Performance at Rowan University, they aim to further their personal development through continued performance and tutoring.
During their education at R.U. Andy served as principal saxophonist of the Rowan Wind Ensemble and helped lead the saxophone quartet for the studio under the direction of Dr. Noa Even. Outside of classes, Andy premiered multiple new works for the saxophone by composers Mickie Wadsworth, Xiaowei Cao, and Julia Petrongolo, as well as performing other contemporary works for recitals, the (Navy) International Saxophone Symposium, and the SPLICE Institute. Additionally, Andy has contributed to the repertoire of the instrument themselves having composed and performed multiple new pieces for the saxophone while having studied at Rowan.
Andy is also thoroughly involved in electronic music production and sound design, utilizing this knowledge to not only help compose their works for saxophone but to also compose/freelance electronic music for video games, live streaming, mixed-media, and live performances.
Andy has worked with all levels of saxophonists at all ages and takes great passion in devising a learning curriculum for each student so that they not only learn in the best way for them, but that they also have fun as they learn the saxophone.
