Biography
Steve Feinberg is a seasoned music industry professional with a remarkable career spanning over 24 years. His journey in the arts started when he relocated from Philadelphia to New York, where he became an integral part of the entertainment landscape. Initially working with Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Kline to produce Shakespeare in the Park, Steve quickly found a place in the television industry, running the script department for network television’s #1 drama, Law & Order. There, he discovered his true passion lay in discovering and fostering talent, negotiating deals, and working with artists of every kind which led him to becoming a talent agent at prestigious agencies like Paradigm and Don Buchwald & Associates in NY.
After a stint as an agent, Steve began teaching at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where his life would soon change. While working as an adjunct, Steve discovered a then unknown pop-punk band from Maryland, Good Charlotte. Steve signed them as their manager and quickly discovered his calling. Under his guidance, the band signed multi-million-dollar major record label and publishing deals, toured the world, and sold over 12 million albums. This success marked the beginning of his influential career in the music industry. He established his own music management company, Fein Music, signing indie rock icons, My Morning Jacket, critically acclaimed musical comedy duo Flight of The Conchords and many others. Steve later merged with industry veteran Simon Renshaw, to form Strategic Artist Management, representing Steve’s roster as well as renowned artists like Dixie Chicks and Miranda Lambert.
After a decade in the industry, Steve ventured into the realm of brand consultancy, founding the 8spoke.Creative agency. His expertise in artist-brand relationships and strategic integrated marketing led him to work with global prestigious brands such as Steve Madden, Conde Nast, and the World Poker Tour. Notably, he curated the Steve Madden Music Project for 8 years, collaborating with artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Grimes, The Kills, Kimbra and many more, resulting in significant social media growth and brand reach. Steve and Steve then became business partners and launched 5Towns Records signing a handful of young artists who in a very short period have gone on to garner more than 1.5 billion streams across all platforms.
In Fall 2023, Steve Feinberg turned his wealth of knowledge and experience towards the future of the music industry. He embarked on a new chapter as a full-time Lecturer at his alma mater, Rowan University. In addition to Lecturing, Steve also oversees the student-run record label, RMG (Rowan Music Group) and sits on the Board of the Rowan Arts Engine, an arts and culture incubator created to strengthen the South Jersey arts ecosystem.
