Biography

Kevin Gehringer graduated summa cum laude from Rowan University in 2019, receiving a B.M. in Instrumental Music Education, B.A. in Subject Matter Specialization, and minor in Voice. While at Rowan, Kevin studied saxophone under Dr. Tim Powell. He served as the principal alto saxophonist for the Rowan University Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Pep Band, and Saxophone Quartet. His dedication to instrumental music allowed him to graduate with the 2019 W. Clarke Pfleeger Medallion Award for Musical Excellence and the 2019 Lawson J. Brown Senior Scholarship Award.

Currently, Kevin teaches music at Magowan Elementary School in Edgewater Park, NJ. Here, he instructs general music, instrumental music, and choral music for students Grade K through 4. Prior to working at Magowan Elementary School, Kevin served as a horn line instructor for the Deptford Marching Band, a woodwind instructor at Resonance School of Music, a counselor for the Rowan Summer Music Camps, and tutor for the Rowan University music department.

Kevin resides in Deptford, NJ. When he is not teaching music, you can find him advising his school’s drama club, working as a freelance musician, or performing in musicals, both on stage and in the pit orchestra, throughout the tri-state area.
