Biography

Robert C. Joubert, bass, has appeared with Bronx Opera (Il Commendatore - Don Giovanni, Lob - The Poisoned Kiss), dell'Arte Opera Ensemble (Truffaldin - Ariadne auf Naxos), and Philadelphia Opera Collective (Rev. Olin Blitch - Susannah). As a recital and concert soloist, Rob has appeared in performances including Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Handel's Messiah, Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, W.A. Mozart's Mass in C minor, Brahms’ Ein Deutches Requiem with the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, Holst’s Christmas Day and Bass’ Symphony of Carols with The Philadelphia Orchestra for their Glorious Sounds of Christmas subscription concerts.  His most recent performances include his debut as soloist in Beethoven's Choral Fantasy and New York premiere of American composer David Davies' Cantate Domino at Carnegie Hall with the National Sacred Honor Choir, an organization committed to the marriage of art music at the highest level and the Christian faith. Awards have included 1st place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition for the Central New York/Finger Lakes Region, Adult Division. Mr. Joubert has also frequented as a chorister in Philadelphia with The Philadelphia Singers Core & Chorale, Mendelssohn Club, Choral Arts Society, and numerous churches.  Robert holds a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from The Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton College. He has studied voice with Kelley Hijleh, Robert McFarland, and Shirley Close. Rob has also worked with vocal and drama coaches Sharon Johnson, John Douglas, Chris Fectaeu, Luke Housner, Michele Scanlon, and Ben Spierman. In addition to his performing activities, Mr. Joubert serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Shawnee High School in Medford, New Jersey.​
