Biography

Eunmi Moon was highly praised by The Monitor, an Illinois periodical, “Ms. Moon has a unique style of playing which is tasteful, doesn’t overcome the soloist, yet manages to reach the musical heights. Her technique is spotless and her dynamics come through with lyricism”. The Philadelphia Inquirer lauded, “Accompanying with sensitivity and skill throughout, notably in the hushed reverie of Richard Strauss, was pianist Eunmi Moon.” 

She has appeared as a guest collaborative pianist on such venues as Alice Tully’s Wednesday at One and An evening of Chamber Music Concert Series, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society concert series at Philadelphia Convention center, Recital series at Merkin, Carnegie/Weill Recital Halls, the 92nd Street Y and Colden Center, Joy in Singing Winner’s Concert series at Bruno Walter Auditorium, Pro-Musica Concert Series at Detroit Institute of Arts Recital Hall, The Pro-Mozart Society of Atlanta, Music Academy of the West, Sunday Concert Series at Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Naumburg Orchestral Concert Series at the Naumburg Band shell in Central Park, Cincinnati’s the Matinee Musicale Club, Noonday Concert series at Trinity Church, Bartlesville’s Concert series at Art Convention Center, Naumburg Competition Winner Concert at NYC Radio station, as well as countless music series in major museums and libraries.

Under the auspices of Community Concert Series sponsored by Columbia Artist Management, Ms. Moon has performed in many major cities throughout the U.S. including, New York City, Cincinnati, Bartlesville, Hartford, Pittsburg, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Santa Barbara, L.A., Norfolk, Chicago, Michigan and other cities. She has also performed in other countries including, Korea, Japan, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Austria, France, Guatemala, Mexico, Norway and Argentina. Ms. Moon frequently collaborates with the acclaimed soprano Theresa Santiago, a winner of the Naumburg Competition.  They recorded ‘Spanish Songs’ on the Musical Heritage Society label. 

A graduate of the Juilliard School, Ms. Moon was the first Korean student to receive a Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano, where she subsequently worked as Associate Coach at the school’s famed Juilliard Opera Center.  She is a doctoral candidate in Teachers College at Columbia University where she has received her second Master’s degree in Music Education. The recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, she made her Carnegie/Weill Recital Hall debut as a winner of 1995 Artist International Competition in the Piano/Cello Duo Category. Ms. Moon was also a vocal coach at Manhattan School of Music. Currently, she teaches at Monmouth University, Rowan University and is a co-adjutant while she is also a doctoral candidate at Rutgers University.
