Iris Horng is currently a high school senior from Deptford, NJ. She has been studying piano with Professor Veda Zuponcic of Rowan University since age 5. She recently received an 11-year plaque from the New Jersey Music Teacher Association, and in 2017, she was a featured artist on the WWFM The Classical Network: “Kids on Keys.” She has won many awards, including first place in the South Jersey Music Teachers Association Technique Competition in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017. Aside from piano, Iris also plays the violin and is the concertmaster of the Rowan Youth Orchestra. During the summer of 2019, she attended the New Jersey Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology at Rutgers University School of Engineering. In addition, Iris was recently accepted to the University of Pennsylvania as part of the Class of 2024.
