2019 ROWAN STRING FESTIVAL 

March 14 and 15, 2019

• For High School String Orchestras from any State
• Registration Fee: $120
• Present between 5 and 15 minutes of music. Contrasting styles are preferred.
• Adjudicators will grade each orchestra on a variety of subjects (intonation, musicality, ensemble, etc.)
• After performing for the judges, Dr. Timothy Schwarz, Dr. Joanne Erwin, and Professor Douglas Mapp will work with the orchestra for approximately 25 minutes. The session will conclude with a short performance by the three instructors.
• The orchestra with the highest score will perform a 5-minute work of their choice at the Rowan String Ensemble Concert on Sunday, April 28 at 3:00PM.
• If the winning orchestra cannot perform, the award will go to the runner up.
• Previous first place winners are welcome to participate in the festival, but cannot win two consecutive years.
