Biography

Wendy Hill spent many years as a vocal music educator, working with children from Pre K through grade 5. She has had vast experience working with children of all ages, and has had many opportunities to work with children with special needs. Mrs. Hill had the privilege of hosting many student teachers from Rowan University in the Pitman School district where she spent the majority of her career as a public school music teacher. Mrs. Hill is now the co-founder and co-director of A&W Music Together which serves the Swedesboro and Glassboro area. Through this work with babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers, Wendy experiences every day that music supports all learning. She has continued her studies with mentors at Music Together in Hopewell New Jersey and has recently achieved Certification Level 1. Wendy's expertise in early childhood education gives her a unique perspective that she brings to her work at Rowan. Wendy received her formal training at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. She studied voice with Lois Laverty and conducting with Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt. Her passion was music education and one of her earliest mentors was Dr. Frances Poe. Since joining the faculty of Rowan in 2009 she has worked as a supervisor for music student teachers and teaches the course Music and the Child.
