Biography
Luigi Mazzocchi was born in Venezuela where he studied music in the System of Youth Orchestras ("El Sistema"), the "Sojo" Conservatory, and the Latin American Violin Academy with José del Castillo. Later he studied with Lenuta Ciulei at Rowan University and Helen Kwalwasser at Temple University. Currently, Mr. Mazzocchi is the Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, the Ocean City Pops Orchestra, and the Lancaster Symphony; he is also Associate Concertmaster of the Delaware Symphony and a member of Opera Philadelphia, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the West Jersey Chamber Orchestra, Pyxis Piano Trio and Camerata Philadelphia. Mr. Mazzocchi is an artistic director for Artcinia and has served as substitute violinist and a teaching artist for the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has also performed with Orchestra 2001, the Philadelphia Classical Symphony, the Serafin and Dalí String Quartets, the Pagode Project, and Alô Brasil.
