Biography
A piano instructor of ten Years as well as a New Jersey Native and Rowan University Alumni, Professor McGarry is thrilled to be able to utilize and pass on his skills as a musician on campus. Having studied with a variety of acclaimed teachers, including Lidia Boguslavsky and Raffi Besalyan, Professor McGarry completed his Masters Degree under Professor Veda Zuponcic in 2014. A member of NJMTNA (New Jersey Music Teachers National Association) and a board member from 5014-2015, Dan’s students have competed in events organized by the association and performed well. Professor McGarry himself competed in the NJMTNA Collegiate South Jersey Division, scoring 2nd place, and, separately, scoring an “Honorable Mention” in the State Division. As far as non-pedagogical work, Mr. McGarry enjoyed the position of Music Director at the First United Methodist Church in Delran New Jersey, and still enjoys playing at churches and weddings when possible. Mr. McGarry has also performed with the South Jersey Philharmonic on several occasions.
