Biography
Eric McLaughlin has taught grades K – 8 general music, choir, and jazz ensemble in the Point Pleasant Beach School District for over ten years. A native of Manasquan, NJ, McLaughlin holds a B.A. in Music Education and Jazz Studies from Rowan University, having studied piano under Veda Zuponcic and Dean Schneider, as well as a M.A. in Jazz History and Research from Rutgers University-Newark. He is currently pursuing an additional M.A. in Music Education from Liberty University. In addition, he earned his Kodály teacher certification from Westminster Choir College and is currently pursuing his Orff-Schulwerk teacher certification from the University of the Arts. Eric performs frequently as a freelance church and pit musician. Outside of music education, Eric has been involved in the field of emergency medical services for over 16 years, having held various leadership positions.
