Biography
An active artist, teacher and administrator, Savage currently teaches Arts Planning: An Elegant Process in the Arts Administration M.A Program in Global Arts Program at Rowan University and has been the Executive Director of the San Francisco Cinematheque, Executive Director of the Senior Artists Initiative in Philadelphia, Director of the Philadelphia Independent Film & Video Association (PIFVA) and Program Director at the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
She has worked as a grant writer and planning consultant for: Mangrove Media, Julie Akeret Films, Shirley Road Productions, Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania, Squonk Opera, Alarm Will Sound, Market Square Concerts and Termite TV.
She holds an MFA in Film and a BFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute; a BA in Art History from Harpur College, SUNY, Binghamton, and is certified in Facilitation by the Institute of Cultural Affairs. She teaches photography and filmmaking; and has taught at Dickinson College, York College, University of the Arts, SF State, San Francisco Art Institute and Temple University, teaching Film and Media Arts.
Her films and photographs have been exhibited widely, including Carlisle Arts Learning Center, Pennsylvania’s Art of the State, Dickinson College, Black Maria Film Festival (Director’s Citation), Photoworks, Rutgers University 8mm Film Festival (Finalist), SF Cinematheque and SF Art Institute Film Festival.
She received a PCA Fellowship in Media Arts in 2006.
